About Pool Trader
My name is Joe Wilmot and I’m the creator of Pool Trader. I have been in the industry since 2008 and started my own pool cleaning and repair business from scratch. I started with nothing and took on almost everything that came my way, driving as much as an hour in every direction. As I was driving, I would regularly pass other pool technicians and wonder where they lived.
And there was the spark. Why aren’t pool technicians working together to have tighter routes? There was really no platform to help us. It’s taken me almost 10 years to make this dream a reality, and I’m happy to provide Pool Trader to all my fellow technicians. It’s a free mobile friendly website where you can go to buy, sell and trade accounts to get a tighter route!
I went from driving almost 300 miles per week to UNDER 50! I made more money and worked WAY less each day. It took me 8 years to get my route into a 5 mile radius from home. My hope is that this platform can help all of you to get tighter routes in a fraction of that time.

Pool Trader exists to bring an easy-to-use, all-encompassing platform to the industry we work in everyday. We believe servicing clients should be simple; allowing shorter routes to meet the needs of as many pool owners as possible, regardless of whether customers reside in residential or commercial spaces. Our passion is to build a community-driven platform where all pool service technicians can buy, sell, and trade routes between each other to optimize WHAT we do and HOW we do it.
Pool Trader is a tool specifically designed for the swimming pool service industry. This mobile friendly website allows pool pros to work together. How? You can buy, sell or trade service accounts in order to get tighter routes! The idea is not new to our industry, there have been pool pros that have been working with one another for decades. But there has never been a platform like this. Buying and selling pool accounts has typically only happened in a few different ways over the past several decades. You can us a pool broker, craigslist, or as our veteran pool pros have done you can put a flyer on the cork board at your local wholesaler in hopes a fellow pro is interested. All of these methods are still used today and with the addition of facebook groups also specifically made for the pool industry. Pool Trader combines all of the benefits of these methods in one easy to use platform. No brokers, no fees, no nonsense. This is a peer to peer marketplace that NOW INCLUDES PARTS! For those of you who have been using our app version for the past few years we are happy to announce we have added a Parts Marketplace. My hope is that everyone in the pool industry will use this tool I have created for us all.

There’s no longer a need to download a large app to your mobile device, eating up battery life and data or storage. Simply create your account and start posting in minutes.
- Auto-Archived Listings
We’ve fixed the number 1 complaint on the original app – older listings that had been sold were still visible. NOW users will have to renew their posts or it will automatically be removed after 30 days to maintain a cleaner pool list and marketplace.
- More Informative Pin Display
Pins shown on the map now give information regarding the price and number of accounts for that listing.
